Look around at adverts today. There are airbrushed photos of women, who don’t really exist, that the young women of this world feel they need to become. There are sports stars, who spend five hours a day in the gym, that young men are told they need to be like. Film stars have plastic surgery and go through ridiculous diets to become stick thin. Let me say this as clear as I can. God, does not want you that way. God, does not want you to become like some impossibly thin woman, or some daft super hunk, that cares more about his six pack, then the fact that people die in the world, because they don’t have enough food. These people are so busy trying to make themselves immortal, that they miss the point of life. They are so busy trying to live forever, that they don’t have time to realise that Jesus means they can live forever. In this passage, Jesus is saying to the posh leaders of the Church. “Hey accept the fact, that I am Gods Son and your will never die. Follow me and you will live forever, partying in Heaven.” The posh dudes missed the point, just like those today, that look for their happiness in the gym, or at the plastic surgeons. Don’t you make the same mistake.
