You spend all your time trying to be Jesus to your friends. You take an interest in their daft hobbies. You watch out for them when everyone else is picking on them. You even invite them to stuff that is put on by your youth leader and still they don’t seem to be interested in Jesus? Can’t they see what you are doing? Can’t they see Jesus in you? Well I really do understand your frustration. I mean, day in day out we study the Bible together and do these devotionals, and yet there are still people that don’t understand about Jesus. Maybe we should all just pack it up and go and do what ever we want to do. I mean, after all, if we have chosen to follow Jesus, we are going to Heaven anyway. But then we see this passage, where yet again Jesus is being misunderstood. Yet again, the Son of God is getting slapped down, when he is physically in front of people. What does he do? Ah yes, yet again, we are reminded that he goes on to die on the cross, for these very same people. It’s a message that we are reminded of frequently in Jesus life on Earth, but it is a definite example for us. So each day we too must do the same. Each day we must go back to the very people that missed the point yesterday and once more take an interest in their daft hobbies. Once more we must care for them when no one else does. Once more we must try and be Jesus to them.
