Our God is meek and mild. That’s the picture we have sometimes of Jesus. A meek and mild baby in a manger. So it goes without saying that anyone who follows a meek and mild baby born in a manger as their God, must be a bit wimpy. I am sure that’s what some of your mates at college or school might think, but is it true? Seems to me that Jesus is pretty fair. He is willing to teach and explain to people who want to hear the truth. But you had better not take advantage of people in Gods name, as that’s the time when the meek and mild Jesus stops. Jesus has the authority to speak on Gods behalf and when he sees people making money out of others in the temple, that’s when the tables start flying. The people who use Gods name to rip others off today, will suffer the same fate. You see, the truth is Jesus does love us, and yes Jesus does want us to spend eternity partying with him. But also the truth is, that we will one day stand in front of him and explain how we spent our life. If we have spent our lives taking advantage of people, then the news may not be good. Our Jesus meek and mild, not really, honest and fair, yes.
