You see that’s the problem with John the Baptist, he just has no conviction. Yes your right sarcasm is the lowest form of whit. But man did he go over board or what ,when he saw Jesus for the first time. He was half-hearted about his belief of who Jesus was. He’s jumping up and down shouting, “The man has arrived, yep, that guy, is the Son of God, hey everyone, look, he is here, the man who came to save us.” I wonder how I would be if Jesus walked into my work, or how would you be, if Jesus walked into your school or college? I would probably say things like, “are you sure it’s Jesus, he looks just like any other guy to me.” Or, could I possibly, be absolutely, sure, it was Jesus? If my mates walk into the room I know for sure who they are. I know by the way they walk, the way they speak, even by their mannerisms. I know all this about them because I spend time with them and seem to get this sense of who they are by hanging around with them. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know what I am going to say next. Ready, after three, 1 2 3. If we want to recognise Jesus when we meet him then we need to hang around with him as much as we do out mates. Predictable I know, but that’s doesn’t make it any less true.
