Do you often wish that more of you mates knew about Jesus? Do you think if only so and so knew Jesus then he or she would be able to tell so many people. Then you would have loads more cool friends who knew the fantastic news of Jesus. The question Paul asks us is how can they call to Jesus, if they haven’t heard of him? We might say but everyone has heard of Jesus. But have they really heard? Or is Jesus just another fable to them, like Santa Claus, or the tooth fairy. Have they really heard about Jesus from someone who knows the truth? Paul goes on with question two, how can they be expected to have heard about Jesus if no one has told them? What do we say? But someone would have told them wouldn’t they. But of course if we all think that someone else has told them, then there is a very real possibility that no one has. Sometimes we also need to hear from many people before we make a decision. In my case I can think of five people who tried to tell me before I actually listened. Pauls final question is where the rubber meets the road. How can they be expected to be told the good stuff about Jesus if no one is sent to tell them? Well there is only one response to Pauls final question. Picture that mate of your’s who doesn’t know Jesus. Right do you have the picture of their face in your mind? Good you are being sent to tell them the truth about Jesus.
